01 · Our Origin
A chance encounter. A shared vision for travel.
MIC began when two women, fifteen years apart in age, met by chance on the campus of Fudan University.
They were paired during a FIST summer course hosted by Fudan’s tourism department. One had studied tourism management in Switzerland; the other had graduated from Fudan’s Chinese Language and Literature department more than two decades earlier.
Their shared love of travel created an immediate connection. Together, they finished first in the course—and discovered a larger ambition: to build a company that genuinely respects the traveler, the destination and the meaning of the journey itself.
MIC was born from the belief that travel can be more thoughtful, more personal and more alive.
