Terms of service

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MIC website and any travel-planning, itinerary-design, booking-coordination, guiding, or related services provided by MIC (“MIC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the website, submitting an enquiry, or confirming a booking, you agree to these Terms and to any proposal, invoice, itinerary, cancellation terms, or other booking document we provide for your journey.

1. Our services

MIC designs and coordinates curated, tailor-made journeys in China. Depending on the confirmed arrangement, services may include itinerary planning, local guiding, transport, accommodation, tickets, activities, dining arrangements, and access to independent third-party providers. The exact inclusions and exclusions are stated in your written proposal or booking confirmation.

2. Enquiries and proposals

An enquiry, sample itinerary, quotation, or proposal is not a confirmed booking. Availability and pricing may change until MIC confirms the booking in writing and any required payment has been received. Proposals are prepared for the named recipient and are based on the information supplied at the time.

3. Booking and payment

You must provide complete and accurate information and review all names, dates, services, and other details before confirmation. A booking becomes binding when MIC issues written confirmation and the payment conditions in the applicable proposal or invoice are met. Prices, currency, payment schedule, taxes, fees, and included services will be stated in the booking documents. Bank, card, currency-conversion, and intermediary charges may be payable by you unless expressly included.

4. Tailor-made arrangements and changes

Tailor-made journeys depend on availability, local conditions, supplier rules, and timely guest decisions. We may recommend reasonable adjustments before or during travel to protect safety, quality, or feasibility. If you request a change after confirmation, we will try to accommodate it, but changes may be unavailable and may result in additional supplier or administrative costs. A change is effective only when confirmed by MIC in writing.

5. Guest changes, cancellations, and refunds

Change, cancellation, no-show, and refund terms vary by journey and supplier. The terms stated in your proposal, invoice, confirmation, or other booking document apply to your reservation. Unless MIC confirms otherwise in writing, non-refundable supplier charges and services already performed are not refundable. Any approved refund may be reduced by applicable supplier, payment-processing, currency-conversion, or administrative costs. We will explain known material conditions before confirmation.

6. Changes or cancellation by MIC

MIC may change, suspend, or cancel a service when reasonably necessary because of safety concerns, supplier failure, closure, weather, transport disruption, government action, insufficient or inaccurate guest information, non-payment, or events beyond reasonable control. We will seek a suitable alternative where reasonably possible. Any refund or credit will depend on the circumstances, amounts recoverable from suppliers, services already provided, and mandatory law.

7. Traveller responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that all travellers:

  • hold valid passports, visas, permits, tickets, and any other required documents;
  • obtain appropriate medical advice, vaccinations, medication, and comprehensive travel insurance;
  • provide accurate mobility, dietary, health, age, and other information relevant to safe service delivery;
  • arrive on time and follow reasonable instructions from MIC, guides, drivers, venues, and suppliers; and
  • comply with applicable laws, local customs, property rules, and standards of respectful conduct.

MIC does not provide legal, immigration, medical, or insurance advice. Entry, visa, health, and insurance requirements can change and should be verified with the relevant authorities or qualified advisers.

8. Lead traveller and group bookings

The person making a group booking confirms that they are authorised to act for all travellers, communicate these Terms and the booking documents to them, provide their information lawfully, and make required payments. The lead traveller is responsible for keeping MIC informed of material changes.

9. Independent suppliers

Hotels, transport operators, guides, venues, restaurants, activity providers, and other suppliers may be independent businesses and may apply their own terms. MIC will exercise reasonable care in selecting and coordinating suppliers, but does not control their day-to-day operations. To the extent permitted by law, MIC is not responsible for an independent supplier’s acts, omissions, delays, or failures, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Safety and conduct

Travel involves inherent risks. You must assess whether an activity is suitable for you and follow safety instructions. MIC or a supplier may refuse or stop participation where a person’s conduct, condition, or lack of required documentation creates a material safety, legal, or operational risk. Costs arising from such circumstances may be the traveller’s responsibility.

11. Photography, confidentiality, and special access

Some private visits, experts, hosts, workshops, communities, venues, or special-access experiences may impose confidentiality, photography, recording, dress, conduct, or attendance restrictions. You agree to follow any conditions communicated for the experience. MIC will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable guest photographs or testimonials for marketing.

12. Website and intellectual property

The MIC website and its text, visual materials, itinerary concepts, branding, and other content are owned by or licensed to MIC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use them for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not reproduce, sell, publish, scrape, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit them without prior written permission.

13. Prohibited use

You may not use the website or our services unlawfully; provide false or misleading information; interfere with security or operation; introduce malicious code; infringe another person’s rights; harass staff, suppliers, hosts, or guests; or use confidential itinerary or access information for unauthorised commercial purposes.

14. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. You agree to provide only information you are authorised to share and to use appropriate channels for sensitive traveller information.

15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website is provided on an “as available” basis and MIC does not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every description will remain current. MIC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, loss of enjoyment, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from events outside our reasonable control. Where liability cannot be excluded, MIC’s liability will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Events beyond reasonable control

MIC is not responsible for delay, change, or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, epidemic, public-health measure, war, civil unrest, government action, border restriction, transport disruption, strike, utility or communications failure, or supplier insolvency. We will take reasonable steps to assist and reduce disruption where practicable.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future use of the website or future bookings. The version applicable to a confirmed journey is the version incorporated into the booking documents at confirmation, unless a later change is required by law or agreed in writing.

18. General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer a booking or your rights without MIC’s written agreement. These Terms, together with the applicable booking documents, form the agreement between you and MIC regarding the confirmed services. Mandatory consumer protections and applicable law remain unaffected.

19. Contact

Questions about these Terms or a booking may be sent to MIC at soniawang19821982@gmail.com. MIC is based in Shanghai, China.
